Frequently Asked Questions

  • Please could you let us know by the 8th of June whether you will attend.

  • No – you are more than welcome to dip in and out of proceedings as suits you. We are aiming for a relaxed and informal celebration so please don’t feel pressure to stay for the whole time.

  • There is parking available at Arnos Vale which will be prioritised for our guests. The main carpark is a short walk (uphill) to the Underwood Centre, however there is car access to the woods for those who need it.

Please let us know on the RSVP form if you are planning to bring a car to the celebration at our house. Parking is very limited so it will be helpful for us to know how many cars to expect, so we can plan to accommodate these (we are contacting a local farmer to ask for field access). As a last resort, there is a carpark at Nailsea and Backwell station which is a 20 minute walk/5 minute drive from our house, and we may arrange taxis from there. The station carpark is open 24 hours and costs £2.60 for 24 hours.

Ideally we would ask people to lift-share where possible. We can help to arrange this - please let us know in the RSVP form comments box.

  • Children are more than welcome - to any or all of the celebration.

Unfortunately due to the capacity of our venue we’re not able to extend invitations to plus ones.

  • Please feel free to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Suits are not obligatory (Josh won’t be wearing one!) but you are welcome to wear one if you want. Please bear in mind that we are hoping for the ceremony to be in the woods, if the weather allows, so please choose your footwear wisely.

If the weather is poor we will make sure there is as much cover as possible in our garden (and the house will be an option), but will still be aiming to be outside where possible, so a coat or umbrella might be helpful.

  • As the cliché goes, your presence is present enough! We’ll be delighted if you’re able to join us so there is no need to bring a gift.

If you feel strongly about gift giving, please consider donating to one of the charities below, or another of your choice:

    Cancer Research UK

    The Rivers Trust

  • Please let us know about any dietary requirements on the RSVP form. We will be providing gluten free, nut free and vegan cake. Pizzarova are able to offer vegan pizza, and gluten free dough, although they state that this is not suitable for coeliacs.

  • At Arnos Vale there will be cake and refreshments available (from a pop-up bar and their café), so we please ask that you don’t bring your own food and drink there. When it comes to the celebration at ours in the evening, anything goes! We will be providing pizza and a variety of drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks and hot drinks). Please feel free to bring any extra food or drink that you fancy.
